Charcoal Animation: Sun Seeds

The concept for "Sun Seeds" is a lighthearted yet surreal interpretation of a sunrise. Taking the term "sunflower" literally, this animation depicts the story of a sun that grew from a seed. The transition from night to day helps drive the story as the sun rises and is reflected by the accompnying music: "Sun King" by the Beatles. The song's slow build in complexity as it phases out the sound of crickets chirping in the night aligns with the buildup of the sunrise in the animation. This animation consists of over 250 hand-drawn charcoal frames.
